MIC Football Tournament 2025 was a blast. A truly memorable experience for the U16s boys from Trinidad & Tobago who went and definitively a huge learning curve. The Nexgem Unionhall Academy Team got knock out in the semi final but it was a very testing and challenging game. Not to fear, as the team will be back bigger and stronger for the 2026 tournament. In the mean time, the boys will join their school’s pre-season camp others will go off to join academies in the US or Europe. Either way, players will be sharpening teir skills over the next few months to sharpen their skills for the next year tournament.

To add a little background for those who are new here. The MIC international youth soccer tournament brings together more than 100 teams from Europe, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean to compete against each other in football terms. The tournament consist of 5 male age categories (U12, U13, U14, U15, U16) on top-tier natural grass fields: eight 11-a-side and four 7-a-side football fields, as well as world class accommodation options. It’s where future stars of professional football will be born. From Europe, academies such as, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, as well as Atlético Madrid, Olympique de Marseille, FC Porto and Aston Villa will all participate. On top of this, the tournament will include iconic South American and Central American teams such as, Santos FC, River Plate, Cruz Azul or Club América. From the United States, Inter Miami’s and LA Galaxy’s young talents.
